I have been following this group since last year. I have really enjoyed all the information that has been posted.
I have exercised induced asthma. Didn't know I had it until I joined the military and was stationed overseas in Germany. After 3 years of inhalers on a daily basis, I was discharged from the military and stopped my inhalers (because I wasn't exercising any more). About a year ago I started up with running again, and with that the inhalers. But than I came across this group and have been employing all the wonderful information that has been passed around. I now run at a pace that allows me to breath through my nose. I have not used my inhaler for 1 and 1/2 months. If I feel that I have to breath through my mouth when I am running, I just slow down my pace. It has worked wonderful!!!!
I would just like to say that this is a wonderful group and that it is a shame that the medical profession is so deffensive about Buteyko.
I myself am in the process of getting my Bachelor's in Nursing. I myself have passed this wonderful information on to several people within the medical field, one person being a pharmacist. He found it very interesting. So who knows, get a small rock rolling and an avalanche will develop.
Well, this is getting long. Keep up the great work.
